Literary Exhibition

Literary Exhibition (well known as LitEx) is an annual activity held by the TESL student in our campus. I was in a group of four under the theme 'The Spirit of Nationalism'.

We were acquired to find some poems or any short stories that were related to the nationalism. We were also needed to come up with our own original product to verify that we had a fully understand what is our theme about. It could be anything like a poem, short stories or even a song.

So we came up with three poems. Two of them came from our evergreen national writer which is Usman Awang and the Malaysia's Dumbledore, A. Samad Said. Another poem was written by a song writer but I am uncertain about his name. It suddenly slipped out of my memory box. Hihi sorry :(

That's our booth !

We managed to explain well about the details of the poems to the students who came to pay our booth a visit. It was a very long day, indeed, yet we had fun conducting such event!

The Outcomes !

I was able to express my emotions into words since I came up with a poem for the original work (it somehow enhanced my creative writing skill I guess hihi)

The event had developed my love towards the nation even more, as I read and analyse each of the poems found.

The process of analysing the poems pointed out the parts that I need to improve. For example, I need to focus more on analysing the theme of poems since Im quite weak when it comes to that sobs

Animal Farm Presentation

There's this novel entitled Animal Farm that we needed to read for literature. In addition , we need to analyse the novel and present it to the class. In a group of three, I was tasked to present Language Mood and Tone.

At the end of our class, Madam Syahreena did gave us some comments on our presentation.

what should I improve on?

As I was explaining about Mood and Tone, Madam Syahreena said that there should be more on the tone.

It shows I did not master the topic very well since I cannot give a complete example for tone. Lets work on that peeps.

So basically for language, we explained about some elements which are simile, mood and tone, metaphor, and adjectives. I took mood and tone. When explaining, we needed to prove it with the evidence from the original book.
